Walgreens Scenarios #2 for 12/11

Here are my second Walgreens Shopping Scenarios for 12/11. I have one scenario for those of you who want to do small transactions and another where you do just one transaction and get $5 in Jingle Cash.
SCENARIO #1:  Get $23.10 in merchandise, spend $6.10 out of pocket and end up with $3 in Register Rewards. So, it’s like you are paying $3.10 for everything!
SCENARIO #2: Get $36.94 in merchandise, pay $19.84 out of pocket and end up with $13 in Register Rewards and $5 in Jingle cash. So, it’s like you are paying $1.84 for everything! Of course if you have Register Rewards to roll just throw in some fillers and use them to pay to bring down your out of pocket.

Straight from Him: Three Tips to Supporting Your Couponing Wife

I’m a software engineer with an extreme couponing wife. I’m educated, maybe even smart, but what she does with math and coupons is creating the “New Math” of this generation. I can’t understand it. When she explains it she uses words I know and recognize but not in the couponing context. I have no idea how she applies this “doubler” with a coupon and then watches for specific sale priced items to trigger a “Catalina” thus creating an overage…What? She keeps everything so clean, organized, and at her hip for a moment’s notice. She can tell me how much she’ll save tomorrow and even next week. I just don’t get it. But I do understand that our grocery bill has been cut by 80% or more over the last 8 months. Old or new, that math is understood by all.

I can’t gripe about the couponing and the amount of stockpile we have because it would be like standing

Walgreens: Shopping Scenarios for the week of 12/11!

Walgreens allows one manufacturer coupon and one store coupon per product. You may use Walgreen’s Register Rewards in addition to these coupons.  The Register Rewards print like a Catalina on a little machine near the cash register.  The most important thing to remember when coupon shopping at Walgreens is that you have to have as many items to purchase as you have coupons, including any Register Rewards you want to use.  We often use “filler” (cheap, extra items) so that we have enough items to purchase.

Walgreens is certainly the hardest drugstore to shop, but it has the best deals!  What I like most is that you can repeat the deals and get more product.  The limits are just one per transaction, so you can get more than one item–just don’t clear the shelves!!

Rite Aid: $5 Scenarios for the week of 12/11

Welcome to this post where we will lay out some extreme couponing deals that will cost you about $5.00 out of pocket each week!  First, here’s everything you need to know about shopping at Rite Aid:

Before shopping at RiteAid you should sign up for a Wellness card or get one in your store.  The best deals at Rite Aid utilize the +Up Rewards and the Single Check Rebate (SCR) system.   In addition to the +Up Rewards, which are coupons that print with your receipt (similar to CVS), Rite Aid sends you a monthly check for the total of all your rebates purchased during that month with the SCR program.  You can cash the check as you would any other check.  In addition to the +Up Rewards and the SCR program, you can watch videos on products and receive Video Value coupons.  These coupons can be printed from your computer after you watch the corresponding videos. There is 20% off CVS coupon offered on their Facebook page.  You take a little quiz and then they email the coupon. It has all the regular stipulations of no sale items, etc.  But if you do rebates, they can come in handy for them, and often if you use with your regular order they will take off something. You can also make your own sale on an item you need.  It will be available for the first 100,000 or until 12/25.  The longer you wait to request it the later the expiration date.  I checked today and it is still available. To get the coupon you take a quiz:  "what kind of shopper are you?"
